    That last paragraph seems to suggest micromanagement is good for adult employees because it is good for small children. This is laughable.

    Managers who use micromanagement with new employees intend to continue long past the initial few weeks. Likewise, they can always down talk someone’s performance and claim they need micromanagement. Micromanagement is never good and micromanagers can always find an excuse.
